Transportation

The Evergreen day begins at the front door.

For many families, getting someone to and from a daytime program is half the challenge.

Evergreen’s optional door-to-door transportation makes the day easier — from the moment we arrive at home until your loved one is inside Evergreen, and back again at the end of the day.

One less thing

One less thing for you to manage.

Loving the idea of Evergreen and being able to make it happen on a Tuesday morning are two different problems.

Getting Mom or Dad ready, leaving work, driving across town, helping them inside, driving back, and then doing all of it again at four o’clock — that is the part that quietly decides whether a program is realistic for a working family.

Transportation takes most of that off your list. We come to the house. We help your loved one to the vehicle, into the studio, and home again at the end of the day.

A great day at Evergreen is even more valuable when getting here is easy.

From home to Evergreen

More than curb-to-curb.

  1. 01

    At your door

An Evergreen team member meets your loved one at the front door and provides appropriate assistance getting from the home to the vehicle.

  2. 02

    To Evergreen

The member rides to Evergreen and is assisted from the vehicle into the studio upon arrival.

  3. 03

    Home again

At the end of the Evergreen day, transportation can bring the member back home. Transportation can be arranged one-way or round trip.

The way you arrive matters.

A familiar greeting matters.

Patience matters.

Routine matters.

Knowing where you’re going matters.

Being welcomed rather than simply transported matters.

The ride isn’t separate from the day. It’s the beginning of it, and the way it ends — the transition into Evergreen in the morning and back home in the afternoon.

For someone experiencing memory loss, MCI, Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, a warm and familiar transition can matter as much as anything that happens in between. You can read more about how our team supports members in Memory & Cognitive Support.

A ride should feel like being collected by someone who knows you — not being picked up by a service.

A little help when it’s needed

From the front door to ours.

Door-to-door means what it says. We don’t pull up to a curb and expect an older adult to work out the rest on their own.

Our team can provide appropriate assistance from the home to the vehicle, and from the vehicle into Evergreen. How much help that is depends entirely on the member — some want an arm, some want company, some just want someone to carry the bag and hold the door.

Tell us what your loved one needs and we’ll tell you honestly what we can support.

The ride is only the beginning.

Once they walk through the door, the Evergreen day takes over — breakfast, friends, movement, music, creativity, lunch and whatever else the day brings. It’s all part of the Evergreen experience.

The point of transportation is not the ride. The point is everything the ride makes possible.
