Daily Life

No two days are the same. The rhythm always is.

We rewrite the programming calendar every single day. What never changes is the shape of it: three meals, and always more than one thing to choose from.

  1. Morning

    Breakfast · 8:30–9:30

Arrive, and be greeted by name.

Coats hung, coffee poured, breakfast on the table. The first half hour is deliberately unhurried — nobody is rushed into anything.

  2. Late morning

Two or three things at once. Pick one.

This is the part most day programs don't have. Rather than one activity everyone is marched through, parallel programming is how we drive engagement and socialization. The options are designed to keep our members stimulated while promoting choice and independence.

  3. Midday

    Family Style Lunch · 12:00–1:00

    Everyone at the table.

Lunch is served family style — platters passed, conversation across the table. It's the one moment in the day when the whole room is together.

  4. Afternoon

    Move, sing, make something.

Afternoons lean physical and musical — a dance class, a themed workout, balloon tennis, Motown. Some afternoons the whole plan gives way to an outing or a live band instead.

  5. Late day

    The Perk · ~3:00

    Wind down.

Around three, the Afternoon Perk — something to eat, something quiet. The room slows, bags come together, the day gets talked about.

  6. Going home

    From 4:00

    Going home.

Starting around four, members head home — either with family, or through Evergreen's optional door-to-door transportation.

Behind the calendar

However different a Tuesday looks from a Thursday, six needs always get met.

  • Physical Fitness

    Seated or standing, always adaptable.

  • Cognition

    A game, never a test.

  • Entertainment & Social

    Music, performance, good company.

  • Creativity

    Something made by hand.

  • Social Nutrition

    Three meals, eaten together.

Beyond the daily rhythm

Some days are bigger than the rhythm.

Outings into the neighborhood, live music afternoons, and the quarterly calendar of what’s ahead — the days families put on the fridge.
