The Evergreen Experience

Everything they need for a really good day.

Friendship. Movement. Good food. Music. Creativity. Fresh air. A little help when it’s needed.

At Evergreen these aren’t separate services. They’re woven together into a day that feels natural, engaging and worth getting up for.

01 · Connection & purpose

Something to look forward to. Someone to share it with.

Everything else at Evergreen sits on top of this. A morning where someone saves you a seat. A conversation that picks up where it left off on Tuesday. The particular pleasure of being needed at your own table.

Some of it looks like a piano and forty years of lyrics nobody knew were still in there. Some of it is a card game, a guest speaker, a birthday with candles, a raised bed of tomatoes to check on, a tray of muffins going into the oven, a bus into town on a bright Thursday.

The point was never that we offer activities. It’s that people here have a reason to show up, something to contribute, and someone who notices when they don’t.

02 · Movement & well-being

Keeping life in motion.

A day here has a shape to it: something active in the morning, something thoughtful after lunch, fresh air when the weather allows, and quiet when it’s wanted.

Chair yoga and gentle strength. Balance work that’s really about walking into a room without thinking about it. A loop around the block. Trivia, word games, storytelling, and the kind of recall that happens naturally when three people are arguing about a song from 1961.

None of it is a treatment plan. It’s built to keep confidence, independence and interest where they are — for as long as possible.

03 · Food & hospitality

The table is part of the experience.

Coffee and breakfast as people arrive. A chef-prepared lunch at noon, served family style — platters passed, seconds offered, conversation going the length of the table. An afternoon snack that smells like something worth stopping for.

Eating alone is one of the quietest losses of getting older. Here, the meal is not a break in the day’s programming. It is the programming.

04 · Thoughtful support

Support that meets them where they are.

Many of our members live with mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s, dementia, or the ordinary changes that come with age. None of that is what we see first.

We start with the person: what they did for work, what they raised, what they can still do beautifully, what time of day is hardest, what song gets them out of a chair. Then we build their part of the day around it.

  • Trained staff on site all day, in the room, not behind a desk
  • A safe, supervised environment with clear sight lines
  • Memory-supportive engagement — never a quiz, never a test
  • Medication reminders, handled quietly
  • Personalized assistance with the moments that need it

05 · Getting here & home

One less thing for you to manage.

The Evergreen day begins at the front door.

Our team can meet your loved one at home, walk them to the vehicle, and welcome them into the day before they’ve even arrived. At four o’clock we do it in reverse — escorted from the vehicle to inside the front door.

For a caregiver, that’s two round trips and two transitions a day that are no longer yours to plan.

Door-to-door transportation is optional, available within our service area for an added fee.
