Our Approach

Safety matters. But a good day should be about more than being safe.

Evergreen was built around a simple belief: the best place for many older adults experiencing cognitive decline is still home.

Our job isn’t to replace home. It’s to help make staying there possible for longer — by creating better days for our members and meaningful support for the people who care for them.

01

Purpose, not simply supervision.

Keeping someone safe matters. But safety alone doesn't make for a meaningful day.

Evergreen days are designed around movement, conversation, creativity, learning, laughter and human connection.

We don't believe activities exist simply to fill time. We believe they create purpose.

02

Hospitality, not an institution.

How someone feels matters.

That's why we think about the details: being greeted by name, eating a meal worth looking forward to, having a comfortable place to spend the day, enjoying a ride rather than simply being transported, and being surrounded by people who genuinely know you.

We want Evergreen to feel like somewhere you belong — not somewhere you've been placed. The details matter because dignity lives in the details.

03

Relationships, not transactions.

Families navigating cognitive change already have enough people and organizations to coordinate. We don't want Evergreen to become one more.

We get to know our members — their personalities, routines, interests, preferences and challenges. We notice changes. We celebrate birthdays. We communicate with families. And over time, we become part of the family's support system.

You're not simply purchasing hours of care. You're gaining a partner.

Two customers

Two people should be better off because Evergreen exists.

The member

We want them to have more friendship, movement, routine, confidence, engagement and joyful moments.

The family caregiver

We want them to have less stress, fewer interruptions, greater peace of mind — and the opportunity to spend more time simply being a husband, wife, son or daughter again.

That’s how we measure success

  • Is Mom happier?
  • Is Dad more engaged?
  • Is the caregiver less overwhelmed?
  • Can the family continue living the life they want for longer?

Those are the outcomes that matter to us.

The question behind everything we do

From our programming and meals to transportation and family communication, we come back to the same question:

Would I want my own parent to spend the day here?

If the answer isn’t yes, we can do better.
